MAGNETIC VISCOSITY IN NdFeB MAGNETS

The relaxation of the magnetization is calculated for isotropic and anisotropic magnets. For NdFeB magnets, the dependence of Sv on texture, above room temperature, is roughly consistent with the model, while the NdDyFeB magnets show no dependence upon texture.

Exchange-coupled nanoscale SmCo/NdFeB hybrid magnets

Nanoscale hybrid magnets containing SmCo5 and Nd2Fe14B hard magnetic phases have been produced via a novel ‘‘in-one-pot’’ processing route. The grain size of the processed bulk composite materials is controlled below 20 nm. The refinement of the nanoscale morphology leads to effective inter-phase exchange coupling that results in single-phase like magnetic properties. Energy product of 14 MGOe ...

The Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Magnetic Properties of Nd17Fe76.5B5Cu1.5 Type Sintered Magnets

The effects of high temperature homogenization and low temperature annealing treatments on the microstructure and magnetic properties of sintered magnets of an Nd17Fe76.5B5Cu1.5 type alloy have been investigated. The microstructure of the as-cast alloy, consisted of three phases including a Nd2Fe14B1 (2:14:1- type) matrix phase Cu-containing Nd-rich Phase and Free α-iron. The as-sintered magnet...

Big Area Additive Manufacturing of High Performance Bonded NdFeB Magnets

Additive manufacturing allows for the production of complex parts with minimum material waste, offering an effective technique for fabricating permanent magnets which frequently involve critical rare earth elements. In this report, we demonstrate a novel method - Big Area Additive Manufacturing (BAAM) - to fabricate isotropic near-net-shape NdFeB bonded magnets with magnetic and mechanical prop...
